Meet Our New Faculty

We are excited to welcome two new faculty members to the Department of Otolaryngology.

Jason G. May, MD joined us on June 12, 2023, and Forest W. Weir, MD joined us on August 1, 2023.

Jason G. May, MD, MS, MDiv

Joined the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery as an Associate Professor in the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology and the Children's Hospital of Georgia. Dr. May earned his undergraduate degree at Liberty University and his medical degree at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Wayne State University, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. He completed a second fellowship in Otology & Neurotology at the University of Missouri. His clinical interests include all aspects of Pediatric Otolaryngology, with a focus on pediatric otology and hearing loss, cochlear implantation and other implantable hearing devices that help restore a child's hearing, as well as the treatment of chronic ear disease and cholesteatoma.

Forest W. Weir, MD

Joined the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery as Assistant Professor in the Division of Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Weir graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 2017 and completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2022. He then completed his fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology/Microvascular Reconstruction at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2023. His clinical interests include caring for patients with complex head and neck cancers with a focus on transoral robotic surgery, advanced endocrine surgery, and microvascular free flap reconstruction.
